I bought this watch to wear as a little “beater” for when Im working in the yard and doing things outdoors. I am a bit of a watch buff and have an extensive collection of Citizen and Seiko time peices. After looking at G-Shock watches, I chose this Casio; it is a nice watch and it serves its purpose.

The watch is not too large but not small either, the band is comfortable, the bezel does move in either direction, and the day/date are easy to set. I consider the watch to be light-weight, I do not notice it on my wrist, but I have also been wearing heavy watches for more than a decade so I may be biased.

Contrary to other reviews, the hour and minute hands are luminous, and so are the hour indicators (12,1,2, etc.) The tip of the second hand is also luminous. I had to shine a light on the watch face to get the luminous elements to “charge” up right out of the box, but the elements I indicated do read well in the dark without ancillary light.

For the price, this is a nice little watch that tells the time, should tolerate reasonable abuse without problems, and is produced by a reliable manufacturer. Buy it!

Let me say right off the bat that it was a very complicated process of drilling into the back of the camera with my dremel so that I could finally load my film into it. However, once that was done, I was able to take some stunning pictures that I developed over at the Ritz Camera Center near my house.

Learned the hard way that Fuji camera movable lens are not sealed from dust and grit and Fuji does do not cover a camera that stops working due to dust or grit under warranty. Sent a camera under warranty to them due to the lens not moving in or out. Warranty was declined, claiming the warranty does not cover failure due to dust or grit getting into the lens mechanism. They offered to repair it for almost as much as the camera cost. I have never had that problem with other brands. I am back to using two older cameras.

Overall, this is a decent camera for the price. The two features I like the most are the 30x Optical zoom and the HD video. The optical zoom really enables you to get up-close to far away objects. The HD video is always a nice feature. It doesn’t go as high as full HD, but it is still acceptable.

This camera does falls short of my other cameras (Canon T2i and Canon Powershot SX230 HS). Obviously, the FinePix SL300 wouldn’t be able to compete with the much more expensive T2i, but it also falls a bit short in image quality, controls, and ease of use when compared to the less expensive Powershot SX230 HS.

I have mixed feelings about the overall size of the camera. It looks like a mini d-SLR and it is very easy to hold. The downside is that it is very large when compared with my Powershopt SX230 HS and therefore not nearly as convenient to carry.

Bottom line: Some nice features and I really like the powerful zoom, but I’ll be sticking with my Canon cameras.

Fujifilm S4500 Compact Best Review

I own an older generation of this camera and loved it! I bought it one day and took it to Europe the next with little knowledge on how it worked. I had no problems with the older camera on that trip as it was very easy to figure out how to use the settings and it took fantastic photos! When the knob broke off days before my vacation last month I had a panic attack as I wasn’t up on the latest cameras and little to no free time to go camera shopping. When I saw there was a new generation of the FujiFilm I have owned for 5 years, I decided to buy it given how happy I had been with the original FujiFilm that I owned. When I opened the box and powered it on, there was a thick white line down the middle of the display on the back of the camera so I called Fuji tech support. The person I spoke to quickly informed me there was nothing that could be done. He said it was damaged and to return it! He did me a favor with his advice. I was actually disappointed at how flimsy the new generation of this camera had become. The case is cheap plastic and I feel strongly it could easily crack without much trauma to it. My old camera was well made and held up after many trips in which I took hundreds of photos each time. I packaged the new camera up and sent it back to Amazon the next day. I ended up with a Canon PowerShot SX500 IS which operates much the same way as the FujiFilm I originally owned. It is constructed of much heavier materials and takes terrific photos. I would recommend the Cannon as it’s well worth it. I was very disappointed in the FujiFilm camera. If you buy it you won’t be happy. Holding it in your hands you can tell it’s cheaply made and probably doesn’t have much of a lifespan. I feel badly that I’m writing this review after owning the older model which I absolutely loved, but I felt I needed to so no one else makes the same mistake, especially if they are in a time crunch and need a camera quickly. This is not the camera you are looking for. I hope FujiFilm figures out that they’ve cheapened a great camera and make it right with the next model.

The Fujifilm Finepix S4500 is a great camera. Previously, I owned a Fujifilm Finepix s2000HD and it took a fall from which it didn’t recover (although it did recover from many other falls).. I bought this one simply to replace the old model. Well, this has twice the zoom and 4MP more resolution! The zoom is incredible. The pictures are great.. stunning at times! There happens to be one difference with this model which I’m not happy with. There seems to be much more of a lag between the time you press the shutter release and when the picture is taken.. I am used to taking shots sometimes from a moving car.. or shots that just happen and I need to capture them.. Some settings are more responsive than others.. Perhaps the scene detection setting is the worst about this because it is probably making up it’s mind what kind of settings to use.. I think I can adjust to this, and with a little more tinkering I can probably discover a setting that will work for me the way I’m used to on the other camera.. But still, all in all, this camera is easy to use, has great features, and bottom line.. takes great pictures! For the money, I don’t see how you can beat it.. I got an especially good price at Amazon, which turns out to be where I shop for most things that I buy.

This is overall a good sport watch. I bought this for the stop watch. It is very responsive and easy to use. I wanted a watch for the gym and this one does the job. The only problem i have with it is the fact i cant turn off the beeping when pressing the buttons.

altough due to my confusing stopwatch with countdown cronograph(which is what I wanted from the watch!!) I’m pretty happy with this watch, nice acquisition. satisfaction boosted considering the price. Go for it if U want a nice’n'cheap good watch!

This watch has that Casio quality but it was lacking in size for ME. I’m about 180lbs and 6ft, and the watch looked too small on my wrist. That maybe because I’m so used to wearing G-Shocks. It’s still a quality watch that I would recommend. There should be models wearing these watches so we can get a full grasp on how too small or too big they are.

The Casio W800H-1AVOS for $ 24.99 from Target is a Great Watch. The size is just right for us folks that work on things like car engines. It has all the features I need. I use the second time (world time) for GMT for my telescope. The timer has many different ways to be set, could be a little louder. The light goes off too quick. The watch easy shows time, date and day of the week without pushing buttons. This watch is easy to read or see.
